Kumbh Mela — कुम्भ मेला

The great pilgrimage gathering at Prayagraj, Haridwar, Ujjain and Nashik where the akhadas assemble.

For the Bairagi akhadas Kumbh is the central institutional event: camps are pitched by ani and khalsa, disputes are settled, new mahants are recognised and Naga initiations are performed.

The shahi snan order among akhadas follows long-established convention agreed through the akhada councils.

कुम्भ मेला — अर्थ

प्रयागराज, हरिद्वार, उज्जैन और नासिक का महापर्व, जहाँ अखाड़े एकत्र होते हैं।

बैरागी अखाड़ों के लिए कुम्भ प्रमुख संस्थागत अवसर है — अनी और खालसा के शिविर लगते हैं, विवाद सुलझते हैं, नए महंत मान्य होते हैं और नागा दीक्षा होती है।

शाही स्नान का क्रम अखाड़ा परिषदों द्वारा तय परम्परा के अनुसार चलता है।
