The ruler of Gagron who renounced his throne to become a disciple of Swami Ramanand, honoured across Rajasthan and Malwa.
Raja Pipa left Gagron fort, took diksha at Kashi and lived on bhiksha with his wife Sita Sahachari. His pads are included in the Guru Granth Sahib and sung in Rajasthan, Malwa and Gujarat. For the Bairagi samaj he is proof of the tradition's founding claim: renunciation and devotion outrank birth and rank. Pipaji temples and annual jayanti melas at Gagron, Samodhara and Todaraisingh are among the largest community gatherings in western India.
राजा पीपा ने गागरोन दुर्ग त्यागा, काशी में दीक्षा ली और अपनी पत्नी सीता सहचरी के साथ भिक्षा पर जीवन बिताया। उनके पद गुरु ग्रन्थ साहिब में संकलित हैं तथा राजस्थान, मालवा एवं गुजरात में गाए जाते हैं। बैरागी समाज के लिए वे परम्परा के मूल सिद्धान्त का प्रमाण हैं — वैराग्य एवं भक्ति जन्म तथा पद से बड़े हैं। गागरोन, समोधरा एवं टोडारायसिंह में पीपाजी मन्दिर तथा वार्षिक जयन्ती मेले पश्चिमी भारत के सबसे बड़े सामुदायिक आयोजनों में हैं।
